Planting for the Future in St Ives!

To mark our 40th birthday, Cornish Riviera Holidays teamed up with St Ives Orchard and a group of dedicated volunteers to plant 40 native saplings in the newly awarded Penbeagle Nature Reserve on Tuesday, 18th February.

The trees—Oak, Rowan, Hazel, and Birch—add to the growing woodland that began five years ago, thanks to the fantastic efforts of St Ives Community Orchard. This once-farmland site at the top of town has transformed into a flourishing natural space, playing a key role in local rewilding efforts. With each passing year, the reserve becomes an even more beautiful and vital haven for wildlife and the community.

At Cornish Riviera Holidays, we are passionate about sustainability and preserving the natural beauty of St Ives. Planting these trees is just one way we can give back to the environment and celebrate four decades of sharing this special place with visitors.

But the work doesn’t stop here! We’re looking forward to regular visits over the coming years to nurture our trees—preferably on sunny days! Watching them grow alongside the continued success of Penbeagle Nature Reserve will be a lasting reminder of this milestone in our company’s history.

A huge thank you to St Ives Orchard and all the volunteers who braved the elements to help make this happen. If you haven’t visited Penbeagle Nature Reserve yet, we highly recommend it—come and see the difference for yourself!
