Description
Wake up to the sound of gulls and the sea! Superbly situated on The Digey, Windjammer is a cottage just seconds from the popular surfing beach of Porthmeor. The quiet cobbled street the cottage overlooks is a level 2 minute walk to the centre of St Ives with its shops, restaurants and galleries. Built across 3 stories, Windjammer is a typical former fisherman's cottage, cosy and welcoming, the ideal place for families to stay. The cottage has a small garage which, due to the nature of St Ives, is some distance from the cottage.
Ground Floor
Kitchen. Ample modern units and surfaces with cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave complement the traditional warming Rayburn. The dining table extends to seat 6 comfortably.
Bathroom. Bath with shower over, heated towel rail, wash basin and WC.

First Floor
Sitting room. Spacious, carpeted and open beamed with living flame gas fire, 2 comfortable settees and armchair. Large flat-screen TV and DVD.

Bedroom 1. Double bed, fitted cupboards and double aspect. You can see Porthmeor Beach from the bed. Electric heater.
Bedroom 2. Twin beds, bedside tables, dresser, electric heater. En-suite WC and wash basin.
Heating is provided by the Rayburn and additional gas and electric heaters.
There is a reserved parking space provided at Barnoon Car Park.

18) Windjammer
Incredible location, characterful cottage. Good for surfers: right by the beach, bathroom by the front door. Bright living room makes up for little natural light in the kitchen. Well furnished and equipped. Steep stairs.
October 28, 2023Windjammer is a wonderful choice to stay at, being within earshot of both the main thoroughfare and the beach, whilst remaining secluded enough to provide you with privacy and a peaceful location. The cottage provides you with ample living space, with the bathroom located adjacent to the entrance, allowing for easy access when returning from the beach. The kitchen having an aga means you will always have dry warm towels, whilst allowing for great cooking amenities and providing a cosy warmth to the cottage whenever needed. We especially enjoyed the complete seclusion of watching the comings and goings of the tide and the holidaymakers outside, whilst listening to the calming sound of the Ocean at night and in the mornings from the top floor bedroom window. We are looking forward to our return visit next year.
