Originally a fisherman’s cottage, Chimneys is situated in Porthmeor Square, Downalong, just metres from the surfing beach and the St. Ives Tate but still only minutes from the harbour and the shops of Fore Street.

The accommodation has been completely refurbished in 2006, designed entirely by Elsbeth James of Narborough and almost exclusively furnished from John Lewis with additional upholstery, carpets and curtains from local sources. The accommodation is homely, attractively furnished and very comfortable. It is close carpeted throughout with the exception of kitchen, bathroom, shower and utility rooms.

Sitting room. Large L-shaped room with additional roof windows and low ceilings. Comfortable 3 and 2 seater settees together with an easy action 2 seater sofa bed and high backed wing chair. Coffee tables, touch table lamps and standard lamp with reading light for sofa bed. TV/DVD player/Video recorder and Digibox. Coal effect electric fire.

Bedroom 1. Double bed with four drawers, recess wardrobe and ottoman (holding sofa bed linen), 3 chest of drawers.

En-suite shower, wash hand basin vanity unit, over sink mirror with integral shaver point/lights, Saniflow WC and heated towel rail. Tumble dryer.

Kitchen. Has additional access from the square. Fully fitted with gas hob, microwave/convection oven/grill, larder fridge and dishwasher. Ample cupboards, kitchenware and cooking utensils.

Dining room. Table and chairs for six, butchers block trolley with toaster. Thermostatically controlled convector heater.

Under stairs cupboard has extra storage and houses iron and ironing board, fan heater etc.

Bathroom. Bath, wash hand basin vanity unit, over sink mirror with integral lights, shaver point, heated towel rail and WC. Low ceiling beam.

Utility room. Washing machine and small freezer.

Bedroom 2. Two single beds, one raised 3’ from the floor with under bed storage and not suitable for very small children, elderly or infirm. Hanging cupboard for clothes, two chests of drawers.

Gas fired hot water to bath and wash basins. Heating provided by electric fires. Electric immersion heater for kitchen sink.

Parking space at Barnoon car park is included in the rental.

Bed linen is included in the rental.
